Voltage
LED wall washers are available in several voltage options: 220V, 110V, 36V, 24V, and 12V. It’s crucial to select a power source that matches the corresponding voltage.
Protection Level
This is a key parameter for wall washers and a significant indicator of quality. For outdoor use, a waterproof rating of IP65 or above is optimal. Additionally, the fixture should resist pressure, fractures, extreme temperatures, fire, and impact aging. The IP65 rating means it’s completely dust-tight and can withstand water jets without any damage.
Operating Temperature
Since wall washers are commonly used outdoors, this parameter is quite important. Typically, they should operate in outdoor temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C. However, as wall washers are made with aluminum casings that dissipate heat well, this requirement is generally met.
Emission Angle
The emission angles typically consist of narrow (about 20 degrees), medium (about 50 degrees), and wide (about 120 degrees) options. Currently, high-power LED wall washers (narrow angle) have an effective projection distance of 20-50 meters.

Control Methods
There are two control methods for LED wall washers: internal and external. Internal control means no external controller is needed, with the control system designed within the wall washer, and the
lighting effects are fixed. External control involves an external controller, allowing changes in effects via adjusting the main control's buttons. For large-scale projects where clients wish to change effects themselves, the external control method is typically used. Many wall washers also directly support the DMX512 control system.
Light Source
Typically, 1W and 3W LEDs are used as light sources. However, due to immature technology, 1W LEDs are more common in the market since 3W LEDs generate more heat and may have faster light decay if not properly dissipated. These parameters must be considered when choosing high-power LED wall washers to minimize light loss from each LED tube and ensure better illumination. Each LED tube in the wall washer is equipped with a high-efficiency lens made of PMMA.

The relatively large size of LED wall washers greatly facilitates heat dissipation, thus simplifying the design challenges. It is a circuit that maintains a constant current for the LED regardless of the changes in load size. If the wall washer uses 1W LEDs, we typically use 350MA LED constant current drivers. The purpose of using LED constant current drivers is to prolong the lifespan of the LEDs and reduce light degradation. The choice of a quality constant current source depends on its efficiency and stability. As much as possible, select a constant current source with high efficiency to minimize energy loss and temperature.
Application of LED Wall Washers
LED wall washers are capable of producing dynamic effects such as gradual changes, color jumps, color flashing, random flashing, and alternating through the control of built-in microchips. In small-scale projects, these can be achieved without a controller. Moreover, effects like chasing and scanning can be realized through DMX control.
