A. Minor Damage
If only one or two LED beads are damaged, you can proceed with repairs through these two methods:
Locate the damaged LED wall washer bead, and use a wire to connect the metal ends of it to create a short circuit. By doing so, most of the LED beads will illuminate normally, with only the damaged ones remaining off, which minimally affects the overall brightness.
If you are reasonably handy, you can purchase the same model of LED beads online (a large pack for about ten yuan) and replace them yourself. Use a soldering iron (or blow dry it for a bit longer) to heat the old bead until the glue on its back melts. Then, use tweezers to remove the old bead (do not use your hands as it will be too hot). While it’s still hot, install the new bead in place (mind the polarity), and you’re done!
B. Extensive Damage
If a large number of LED beads are damaged, it's advised to replace the entire bead board. Bead boards are also available online, and when purchasing, pay attention to three things:
Measure the dimensions of your fixture;
Look at the type of connector for the bead board and the driver;
Note the output power range of the driver.
The new bead board must match these three aspects of the old LED wall washer bead board. Replacing the bead board is straightforward, as the old bead board is fixed onto the lamp base with screws and can be directly removed. The new bead boards are usually fixed with magnets, making replacement simple by just removing the old board and connecting the new one to the driver.
