A Brief Discussion on the Routine Maintenance of Outdoor LED Wall Washers

With the development of lighting projects, traditional lighting sources can no longer meet people's demands for illumination. Nowadays LED wall washers are increasingly favored in urban lighting projects. Besides achieving lighting effects with their design, the actual lighting display after installation has also been well received. However, during use on construction sites, regular maintenance of LED wall washers is necessary as it affects their lifespan. What regular maintenance tasks should be performed? Here are three key points shared for your guidance:

Step One is to turn off the power supply of the high-power LED wall washers. This is an essential step in maintaining lighting fixtures to ensure safety during the maintenance process, preventing electrical conduction and avoiding damage to the fixture's electrical circuit. Therefore, cutting off power is imperative. Then, when cleaning, be sure to use a dry towel. A wet towel could harm the fixtures, as water droplets leaking into the interior of a high-voltage-powered fixture could cause conduction when the power is on.

Step Two, it is crucial to avoid using chemical solutions for cleaning, such as detergents, which might chemically react with the surface of high-power LED wall washers and potentially with the adhesive inside, leading to chemical reactions.

Step Three, periodically inspect the fixture's installation bracket screws for any signs of loosening and check the waterproof tape at the connection point of the wall washer’s power supply cable for detachment. If it has come loose over time, reapplying several turns of tape might be necessary.

The maintenance of LED wall washers involves various aspects. Addressing key points appropriately can enhance the effectiveness of the maintenance work and extend the lifespan of the fixtures.
