General Lighting Lamps

LED industrial lamps used as general lighting fixtures are generally uniformly arranged above or on the sidewalls of the workplace, illuminating the entire work surface. It requires incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, high-intensity gas discharge lamps, or a large number of fluorescent lamps. Of course, most are energy-saving high-power LED industrial lamps, which fall into this category. General lighting fixtures have high requirements for light distribution, with both direct lighting and semi-direct lighting being widely used, especially the latter. LED industrial lamps used for semi-direct lighting can illuminate the ceiling with a portion of the light emitted upward, increasing the brightness of the ceiling and creating a more comfortable and bright environment.

Local Lighting Lamps

LED industrial lamps used for local lighting aim to improve the illumination of a particular workplace. Their role can be to enhance and complement the general lighting, or they can provide temporary illumination in places where lighting is not usually needed (such as equipment inspection and maintenance sites). There are no strict regulations for their light distribution. This type of LED industrial and mining lamp is usually installed near the work area, using light sources with very low safety voltage (≤50V, AC RMS) such as incandescent bulbs and halogen lamps. There are (portable) walking lights, pendant lights, workbench lights, machine work lights, etc. In some tall factories LED floodlights are sometimes used for local lighting.
