In many factory areas, production lines, underground garages, and other places, there is the option to install either LED floodlights or fluorescent lamps. What differences exist between installing LED floodlights and fluorescent lamps in such situations? Let me explain:
Compared to fluorescent lamps
LED floodlights require higher quality, have a longer lifespan, and can be installed outdoors with a certain decorative effect, as well as providing greater light intensity
LED floodlights, also known as spotlights, can aim their light at any location. Besides being used in garages, indoor sports arenas, and tunnels, they are also widely used for outdoor lighting, such as in parks, overpasses, and outdoor stadiums.
LED floodlights are expected to have a certain degree of waterproof and dustproof functionality, known as the IP protection level. The LED floodlights on the market generally have an IP rating of 65 or above, with our LED floodlights having an IP rating of 68, indicating higher waterproof and dustproof levels. A clear distinction from fluorescent lamps is that floodlights are generally used in areas requiring large-scale illumination and in situations where there is a higher demand for lighting quality and intensity.
Fluorescent lamps provide a softer light, typically used indoors, such as in schools, office areas, corridors, supermarkets, and also suitable for installation in garages but seldom outdoors. Fluorescent lamps are common lighting fixtures we use daily; their light is not harsh to the eyes, unlike some fixtures like
LED street lights, which can be glaring if one looks up at them on a highway. This is because LED street lights installed on highways have high power and, for various reasons, produce a glaring light. In comparison, lights installed along pedestrian paths generally offer a softer light, not as glaring as those on highways. The same principle applies to fluorescent lamps; when purchasing, it's essential to consider not just the aesthetics, brightness, and price but also whether the fluorescent lamp is harmful to the eyes.
